STEPHEN O'NEILL (Age 68)
Stephen Ashley "Steve" O'Neill, 68, of Fairfax, Virginia passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at his home.Steve is survived by daughters, Carrie (Alan) Arrington and Kelly O'Neill; grandchildren, Lauren (8) and Mirabel (5); siblings, Sherri Potts, Sue Toole, Scott Donovan, Robert O'Neill Jr, and James O'Neill. He was preceded in death by parents, Nell and Robert O'Neill and brother Louis "Shane" O'Neill. Steve was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all.Steve graduated from Robert E Lee High School and attended Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. He served several years in the Army, most notably in Worms, Germany. Steve worked for the US Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring in 2013. Throughout most of his adult life, he proudly donated blood to the Red Cross. Steve was an avid sports fan and especially loved baseball and football. He enjoyed spending time with cherished friends, neighbors and family; traveling; dining out; and playing backgammon. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Advent Funeral Home, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22046. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Red Cross.

Steve was a one in a million guy. To know Steve was to love Steve. He made everything in life fun. I am very fortunate to have him as part of my life and he will be forever missed.

Steve was always the answer man for me. Steve ran the dock at Merrifield like a general. Each time I needed an answer Steve had it. Great guy always so happy to help and share information. When Steve retired we at Merrifield really missed him. Rest in Peace.

I always remember Steve being happy. I think he enjoyed his life, and that is all any of us can ask for.

I will always remember Steve's big smile and infectious laugh. I'm sure he and Shane are having a great time together again! I loved him and will miss him dearly but I know his sweet soul is with God now.
