Dear Kathy, Shannon and Sean,
I just heard the terrible news today and am simply heartbroken for you all. Steve was always so full of life and passion! I saw him just a few weeks ago when I was walking along Connecticut Ave. and he smiled and we chatted briefly about our families and how well everyone was doing. He had a wonderful smile! I know that one of Nick's favorite childhood memories was Shannon's Olympic Birthday party where Nick won the hopping contest. Steve granted him that medal and little Nick wore it so proudly! ...and how we would chuckle when he tried valiently to coach Shannon in baseball when all she wanted to do was pick the flowers in the field. He loved every minute of raising his children. He was always so proud of you all. Kathy, you were the perfect yin to Steve's yang and how much he loved you all. I am so very sorry for your loss. The DiGiulian's will always remember dear Steve, his love for his family and his zest for life.

Hochman Family. My kindest regards to you. I am a friend who traveled with Steve in Peru. He was a very positive person, and I found his enthusiasm infectious. It was my pleasure to have met and shared a few good on-trail experiences with him. He was very positive and “up you go!"
Good health, fond memories and happiness to everyone.

Kathy, Shannon, Sean:
I am saddened by the death of your beloved "Steve" and "Dad". Please find comfort in remembering all of those good times, especially the many local and international vacations where you all had so much fun. Steve's body will be missed, but, Steve will be with you and the Family forever.

I am reminded of "Preacher Paul" when he stated, " For I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me that day".
2 Timothy 4: 6-8

My Prayers are with you and your Family. The sun will break through the dark clouds and shine again!!!

Kathy,
I'm sure it has been a whirlwind of activity since you became aware of
Steve's physical affliction. We have no doubts his spirit will outlive
all of us through his impact on each of our lives. His indomitable
spirit, bright smile, and genuine regard for others will be remembered and missed by us.

I know I speak for many in saying the SXM community will miss him and feel privileged to have met you both. Fond memories of the opportunities to share time of fellowship, and hope to have given back at least a small portion of the blessing you have been to us.

Kathy ~ Both Terry & I are very saddened by Steve's untimely passing. You all were such a beautiful family. You are so lucky, however, to have two beautiful children, Shannon & Sean. I know you will make it through this. I also want to let you know how much I appreciated your support when my father died. I just wish I could have been there to support you also, but you have some great friends like Janet and Carol who love you and will be there for you.

Kathy,

Ecclesiates 3:1 says "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven". As you reflect upon the season that you had with Steven, I hope you reflect on the good and happy times of love and joy and find comfort in those memories and remember to thank God for the season that you were able to spend with him. As you and your children enter a new season of life, I pray that love, joy, peace, and strength always be there to cover you.
