Steven Mann Obituary
Suddenly on Wednesday, September 21, 2005. The beloved son of Nicola Middleton; his father, Steven B. Thomas, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his son, Steven Bernard Mann, Jr.; sister, Crystal; brother, Toussaint; grandparents, Cookie Mann and Paul Whitmire, Ruth and Francis B. Thomas; two great-grandmothers, Clara Davis and Virginia Whitmire; a devoted friend, Shavonne Bryant and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service, 11 a.m. at Reid Temple AME Church, 11400 Glenn Dale Blvd., Glenn Dale, MD 20769. Interment Harmony Memorial Park. Arrangements by POPE FUNERAL HOMES.

Wow it´s been a minute, and yesterday was really crazy for me... I couldn´t quite figure out what was wrong/off then my granddaughter said the 21st... and the light came on. 16 years...... It´s crazy how much I still miss my nephew and how strong the hurt is still there...... even though I have the hope of seeing, hugging and kissing him again.... That hope helps me to endure but doesn´t lessen my grief. Fam, I love you, and continue to let Jehovah comfort and guide you thru these turbulent times

WOW its 7 years today..... Time really flies especially when your missing someone. SMH 9/21 will always be a hard day for me. Just thinking back to that phone call & Bryant telling me you were gone. I really didn't understand what "GONE" meant but I figured it wasn't good. It felt like my heart jumped out of my chest and someone just stomped all over it, that's how hurt I was when getting that news. I really didn't know how I or the family was gonna go on without you because you were always the center of attention. Now who's gonna still that shine? Let me guess mini you (Lil Steve)!!!!! Of course he will cause he is just like you "Always wanna be the center of attention BY HIMSELF" lol. Everyone says your in a better place which I agree you are but of course you know me (your selfish stingy little sister) I want you here regardless of whats better for you. I just wanna see you smile one more time, hear you laugh one more time, see you try to dance and do the harlem shake or try to beat your feet one more time. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you or miss you... Sometimes it feels unreal (or maybe I just wish it wasn't real). My big brother who use to be the life of the party is now gone. Let me rephrase that "your not gone, your still here watching over us". I just wish things were different especially when we got Lil Steve around! I swear I see you all over that lil boy!!! He is such a dare devil and isn't scared of ANYTHING!! I took him to the carnival last weekend and of course his little butt wanted to get on all the rides he was too small to get on. So what did we do? lol of course we begged the people to let him on! It reminded me of all the stories I heard about how you couldn't get on rides or they had to stick socks in your shoes so you could get on! lmbo but he loved it, had his hands up and everything and it put a big smile on my face :)!!!
LOL let me tell you what else this crazy child of your's said to me the other day.... "Aunt Crystal, do you know what a *GreatDaneDog* is"? I laughed so hard cause he said it just like that as if it was one word.... I said "Yeah why" he said (very loud in the phone)"cause if I had one of them dogs NOBODY WOULD MESS WITH ME" I laughed so hard I said if you ain't your fathers child..... All I could think about was you & blacky! Well let me get back to work I haven't done anything since I started writing this... Its been like 45 min now. But I love you soooooooo much muah!!!

It's been six years and i think i'm finally starting to heal..... i still miss you like crazy, but this year i did not fall into the pit.
i thought this was going to be the hardest year for me (us) considering that the 21st fell on the same day (Wednesday), but it was actually the best year so far since you've been gone. When we got together on Sunday and toasted you, it filled my heart with Joy to see this family full of laughter and joy instead of tears and sadness. It was really good even playing the ABC/Number games with the kids (Steven, Marcus & August).
