Steven Oristian, M.D., a retired surgeon, died on November 22, 2005 at home on his beloved Owasco Lake in Auburn, NY. He had cancer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie "Babe" Oristian of Auburn; five sons, Steven of Gaithersburg, MD, Eric of Rockville, MD, Mark of Throop, NY, Karl of Gainesville, VA and Peter of Rockville, MD; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dr. Oristian also had a son, Paul, who died in 1963. A memorial service will be held at The Shrine of St. Jude in Rockville, MD, on Monday, November 28, at 11 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to either the Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Dr., Auburn, NY 13021 or The Cayuga Museum of History and Art, 26 Genesee St., Auburn, NY 13021.
