Suanne Lubin Memoriam

Lubin
Suanne Lubin
Suanne Eisen Lubin, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She was 75 years old.
Suanne was born and raised in Beaumont, TX. She is a graduate of the Hockaday School and the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied Art History. Suanne met her husband, Michael, while he was in law school nearby.
Shortly after they got married, Suanne and Michael moved to the DC area and started a family. They were lifelong partners and were happily married for 35 years. As a couple, they enjoyed playing tennis and golf, connecting with close friends and family, and traveling all over the world together.
In 1993, Suanne joined United Airlines in the customer service department, where she joyfully assisted passengers. More recently, Suanne served as a substitute teacher within the Loudoun County public school system. Throughout her life, Suanne deeply cared for and had a desire to help others around her.
In 2008, Michael passed away after an extended battle with cancer. In 2011, Suanne was initially diagnosed with breast cancer and became a cancer survivor; however, more than a decade later, the cancer returned in a more aggressive form.
In addition to travel, including a special fondness for Hawaii, Suanne loved playing golf, Broadway musicals, reading, fine art, needlepoint, and being a grandmother (known affectionately as 'Grandma Susu'). She is survived by her children, Kathleen and Ted, his wife, Melissa, her grandchildren, Harry and Sebastian, and by her brother, Dan Eisen.
A memorial service will be held at Temple Rodef Shalom, 2100 Westmoreland St., Falls Church, VA on Wednesday, September 10 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the Lubin family requests that any donations in Mrs. Lubin's memory be made to the Frank Ski Kids Foundation, Inc. (www.frankskikids.org), an organization that provides opportunities for inner city youth.

I have just learned about Suanne's death after her long struggle with cancer. I am so very sorry. Suanne and I knew each other originally from growing up in Beaumont, Texas where our parents were friends. She went off to Hockady, but we reunited years later in DC and Virgina in 1993 when I moved there. We have stayed in touch every since and although I have been back in Dallas since 2001, we have talked frequently over the years, shared stories, laughed and most recently have been sharing photos of our grandchildren who are about the same age! We even talked about my coming to VA this fall. Her pride and joy were her two children, Teddy and Kathleen. My heart goes out to them. I will miss you so much Suanne. Love always, Penne

Sue and I attended high school together and continued our friendship when gathering for reunions. Her wit and empathy were enormous. I will very much miss her and her memory will remain with me forever.

Very sorry for your loss. I wish all the good memories of a sweet, lovely woman for her family and dear friends. Suanne was my roommate our junior year at Hockaday. A couple of fond memories are when we did our nails each week, and when we would go to the Neiman“s downtown food shop and get a mocha angle food cake. Such a wonderful woman. Condolences.
