Sue Scharerer Obituary

On Friday, June 27, 2025, Sue Ann Schaerer passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sue Ann is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years Lt. Col George J. Schaerer Jr.,Retired and her parents Benjamin Francis and Wavalene Kidd Brown. She is survived by her six children George, Erika, Jason, Heather, Stephanie and Matthew. Her grandchildren Victoria, Benjiman, Samantha, Matthew, Averie, Finley and Marley and great grandchildren Oliver and Tommy. She is also survived by her sister Linda Kay Arbogast and brother Francis Neil Brown.
Sue Ann led a life of selflessness and self sacrifice devoted to taking care of the ones she loved as well as caring for the ill and those less fortunate. Sue Ann grew up a farm girl in Ohio and loved animals and gardening. She served as a Captain and nurse in the USAF and continued nursing later at the Northern Virginia Training Center and Fairfax Central Services. There was not a person Sue Ann met that wasn't touched by her kindness, generosity, compassion, and her sweet and gentle nature. She loved her family and friends and was loved beyond measure. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation is Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Fairfax Memorial 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Mass/interment Monday, July 21, 2025, 11 a.m. at Saint Mary's Historic Church, Ox Rd (Rt123) and Fairfax Station Rd., Fairfax Station, VA.
