Dear Carol, Matthew and Brian, I am very sadened by the loss of Sumpter. It seems like yesterday that you and he were married, Carol. Life certainly goes by at warp speed. Although circumstances won't permit our visitation, you will be in our thoughts thoughts and our prayers in these difficult times.

Dear Carol,Matthew and Brian,

Just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed Sumpter's humor and laughter. I drove a bus with him for many years out of the Clarksburg Depot. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. He truly will be missed.

To the Family of Mr. Sumpter Embrey,

I had the honor and good fortune of working with Sumpter at the National Institutes of Health, Fire Department in 1990 and 1991. I fondly remember his sense of humor and his kindness. I especially appreciate the way he took me under his wing and taught me what I needed to know about "East Coast" firefighting.

My deepest condolances to you.
