Susan Deerin Obituary

Susan Bouma Deerin, 81, passed away July 3, 2025, in Oxford, MD surrounded by family. A longtime resident of Chevy Chase, Susie cherished her 57-year marriage to Dick Deerin and was a loving mother to three sons: J.B (Meghan), Sloan (Missy), and Andrew (Christine). She adored her nine grandchildren: Lilly, Lucy, Devon, Tess, Jack, James, Kingsley, Grace and Ford. A dedicated educator, Susie founded the Embassy Adoption Program, enriching over 35,000 D.C. schoolchildren's lives.

A celebration of life to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society at www.braintumor.org.

My wife and I were good friends of Sue and her husband Dick Deerin for many years.Sue was one of the finest women we have ever met.She was a class act all the way.Dick was a very supportive husband and we feel his pain.The good news is she is with the Lord.
