Susan Normand Obituary


 
SUSAN G. NORMAND (Age 71)  
Died peacefully on January 4, 2012 as a result of a heart attack suffered on December 29, 2011. Susan was born on June 13, 1940 in Fitchburg, MA, the only child of Edvia I. and H. Benjamin Normand, each of whom died in 1968. Susan was a graduate of the Concord Academy in Concord, MA and received her BA from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She also studied French Language and Civilization at the University of Grenoble, France. Susan will be missed by her friends and colleagues at the Washington Office of Foley and Lardner, LLP where she had been a receptionist since 2001. Prior to that, she had served in the same capacity at Freedman, Levy, Kroll and Simonds from 1993 until that firm merged with Foley and Lardner, LLP. Susan was an avid fan of foreign films and theater. She volunteered at the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian and White House. She also tutored French at the YWCA. A viewing will be held at DeVOL FUNERAL HOME, 2222 Wisconsin Ave. N.W., Washington, DC on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 12 to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ayer, MA on January 12, 2012. Contributions in Susan's memory may be made to Memorial Gifts, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, P.O. Box 101510, Arlington, VA 22210 or to the charity of your choice
