SUZANNE WELLS Obituary
SUZANNE C. WELLS
Suzanne Cassels Wells, aged 92, a former Arlington resident and art teacher in the Arlington County Public schools died April 4, 2014 after a long illness. Mrs. Wells was born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1921. She received an M.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design and was an active artist her entire life. She taught art in the Arlington County Public Schools in the 1970s and 1980s. Mrs. Wells is survived by four children: Louis Wells of Houston, Texas; Kate Wells Blackwell of Middleburg, Virginia; Anthony Wells of Fairfax, Virginia, and Christopher Wells of Sterling, Virginia. Joan Wells Shafer, a daughter, died in 2006. Mrs. Wells is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren. A service will be held at Block Island, Rhode Island in June. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Suzanne's memory lives on in my home--2 of her paintings, Christmas cards that decorate the mantle every year, and two lighthouse prints that are on the walls of the family beach house in Nags Head. Wish I could once again sit down for a glass of wine or a cup of coffee with her.

Your mother was a great lady and dear friend to my parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wells family. She lived a great life and left a wonderful legacy.
