My Sister Swazette:
I know that were not actual blood sisters but we always called each other sisters. We shared the fact that we are only children and that we only had one child! We spent so many evenings on the phone and Saturdays getting together just laughing and talking about starting our own music company. And how we loved singing in HSC together. We had so much fun practicing our songs together. I will miss you for now but God will have us pick-up where we left off laughing and singing at another time. Rest and share your beautiful voice with the angels!
Your Sister and Friend,
Deede

Dearest Swazette,
Through Taft Jr. High and McKinley Tech and so many Bid Whist sessions on Monroe St and into our adult phase (yep, just a phase), we were BFF's. Your wisdom and quiet but infectious laughter, your regal beauty, (one of the original "Gap-Tooth Girls" ) were a mainstay of my life.
We were the original Rock Creek Park Rock Jumpin' Crew and how could we forget the folk singing trio of Lew, Dee and Swaz. at the March on Washington, 1963. We were to write these words of tribute well into our 90's. You were one of the all time, true loves of my life. You were my first "friend" who was a girl. I am so very sad; I will miss you, but will continue to think of you often and all of our great times together.
Rest in Peace, my friend.
Llewellyn
