Juan let us know this sad news. Terry was such a favorite for all of our gatherings. He was so entertaining & amusing. We can never hear a harmonica without thinking of him. Our condolences to the entire family.

Every classmate´s passing is a great sorrow to us and our collective
whole is irreparably diminished. When such a loss is rather sudden
we are all the more shaken to the core. Terry has always been the
smile on the face of the SJC Class of ´67., our Pathfinder, not needing
to lead the way, but simply exercising the unique character of a free
spirit illuminating the ways and possibilities.
TJ´s brilliant mind exhibited the true nature of a Wayfarer marveling
at all he encounters. So, cut a trail for us Terry lighted by your smile,
puckish wit, and ---
"Make a Joyful Noise . . . entering into His Gates with Thanksgiving."

I've known Terry since 1954. A quick witted, smart, delightful guy, he leaves a big void in the lives of those close to him. Terry will be missed. May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.

In freshman year in high school at St. John's, DC, Brother Phillip had everyone in our English class "write an essay on any subject" as a way of getting to know one another, I suppose. When Brother asked Terry to read his essay aloud, TJ recited an original poem he had written in the same "Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee" style that Cassius Clay/Mohammed Ali had recently made famous. The delightful poem had the class grinning and laughing out loud, but Brother Phillip pronounced "That's all well and good, Mr. Jackson, but I assigned an essay, not a poem, so I have give you an F." Our class (1A) of 38 brave freshmen at a military, Catholic , all boys school loudly protested that such a masterful composition deserved an A. Brother Phillip relented and gave Terry an A minus. Years later, Terry would say "It sounds like something I would do." Indeed it did, but no-one ever knew what his next impish endeavor would be. Many of our high school's 1967 graduating class, including TJ, have enjoyed occasional, ball games, meals and social events over the years. We will be celebrating his life with us by telling our TJ stories and we will miss him.
