To the Porter and Boone Family:
Although I was a bit younger than Teri, I do remember her from the old neighborhood on Youngs Mill Rd. I remember my older brothers, Kevin, Kris and Count would play basketball at the Boones house some afternoons and as I followed them over, Teri would often entertain Robin and I with the rest of the younger “brothers and sisters” from the neighborhood. I have only the fondest memories of Teri. I once had lunch with Teri and my mother at the Ciba-Geigy lunch room years ago and we had a terrific time together! Teri is one in a million. My memories of her kindness, beauty inside and out warm me at the news of her passing.
My family’s deepest sympathies to the entire Porter and Boone family. May you find comfort knowing that she is now resting in the arms of the Savior.

Terri sat in front of me at Southeast Senior High in Mr. Driscoll's math class. I admired her sense of humor and outlook on life as well as a tremendous intellect. It has been a very long time as my career in the Air Force and subsequent work kept me away from most of the class reunions. I wish I had the opportunity to talk with her again. There are so many fond memories of the time spent at Southeast. She was and will always be a wonderful person.

Mrs. Boone, Kevin, Kelsey, Kevin Jr., Kaitlyn, Derrick and Robin,
To say "I'm so sorry" seems so inadequate. Even though Terri & I touched base briefly on too few occasions, it really hurts to know that she's gone AND that she battled cancer and I didn't even know it. It is good to know that she has enjoyed a full and wonderful life. Every time I think about her, I remember the songs she taught me -- "I Know a Weeny Man", "Plant a Watermelon" and "I'm a Nut in a Rut". We were together from 6th grade at Alamance through 12th grade at SE. I don't recall us ever arguing about anything. We were like "2 peas in a pod".
Terri, you are and will be greatly missed.
Love your old friend,
Michael Watson

It's been such a long, long time. My first memory of Terri is when I attended Southeast Guilford Junior H.S. as an 8th Grader. She was one class ahead of me. Even though we grew up in the same neighborhood, I didn't really have to opportunity to get to know Terri until then, because we attended different schools. I remember that very 1st day, sitting in the bleachers in the school gym, feeling lost/alone as one of the 'new' kids. Terri motioned for me to come sit with her and introduced me to her friends. We later became band mates in the H.S. marching & concert bands. I too remember riding the school bus with Terri (and Derrick), band class & trips, sayng 'Hi' in the hallways between classes (and sometines taking a few minutes to chat), Sunday afternoons playing tag football in the Boones' large back yard and Terri's smile. Terri was always smiling and laughing. The attribute, to me, which stands out above all others (brains, wit, popularity, beauty) in my memory was Terri's ability to make 'everyone' feel included in whatever activity she participated in. For the shy kid that I was back then, this was truly appreciated! On behalf of myself, and the Watson Family, I extend our Condolences to the Boone/Porter families in your loss. "May the Spirit of the LORD bless each of you, and keep you Strong, together as a Family and individually". 'Terri', your Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Auntie, Soror, Friend was truly a class act.

It has been a lot of years but I can still recall Terri’s sparkling personality, caring nature and bright smile riding the school bus from Youngs Mill Rd. to Southeast. She was as beautiful on the inside as on the outside and an inspiration to all of the young ladies in the neighborhood. To the Porter and Boone families, my deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with you. “Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.”

To the Boone and Porter families,
I am so very sorry for your loss; my deepest condolences to you. I remember Terri as the beautiful, level headed, voice of reason and big sister to us all as we grew up around Youngs Mill road in Greensboro. So many of us moved and lost touch, but the memories flood in everytime I go home - good memories of hanging out in the neighborhood at the Boone's house and others. I wish I had known she was as close as Maryland. How blessed we all are to have known Terri ...
May God hold you all especially close in this time of sorrow.

To the Porter & Boone family,
I would like to express my deepest sadness and sympathy in the passing of Mrs. Porter.
Kelsey Porter was one of my closest friends in high school. Time spent with her and her family are some of the fondest memories I have, sitting around the dinner table as a family was a picture of perfection...with Mrs. Porter's cooking and lively, loving conversation. With that, I must say I am blessed to have had the opportunity of being in the presence of Mrs. Porter and to have experienced the love and warmth she gave. The Porters are a family full of love and happiness. My second home and family for most of my 11th grade year. My only regret is not spending more time with them. And I am deeply sorry for their loss.
All of my love.

Terri was an inspiration to me. I will always remember her bright smile, hearty laugh, and fondness of my mother's macaroni and cheese. She inspired me to appreciate every day to the fullest, embrace life's possibilities and most of all cherish your loved ones.
To the Porter and Boone families, both kin and extended, I pray that God grants us all the serenity to accept that even though we loved Terri dearly - God loved her more, and now Heaven will be a bit more brighter with her presence.

To the Porter and Boone Family:
If love could have saved Terri, she would have lived forever.
She was a lot of things to many people and will be missed tremendously. Terri not only possessed physical beauty but was also beautiful on the inside. Words cannot properly describe her inner spirit. I remember her always smiling and making everyone around her feel comfortable.
I can clearly remember the very first time I spoke with Terri (cute little accent). It was when you two got engaged and you wanted me to get to know her. Terri and I must have talked for what seemed like hours. I felt like I had known her all my life. It just came so natural. That transferred over into the first meeting, when you two came to DC for a meeting and I met her for the first time. When you two finally moved to MD, Terri always went above and beyond to make me as well as my family feel very comfortable. I always enjoyed her company and am so grateful to have known her.
Terri was a very devoted wife, mother, and friend to many and I know she touched everyone she met.
In the quiet moments when the hurt is hard to bear, may love become your shelter and may the beauty of precious memories be your comfort and help you through this time.
We pray that the love of God enfolds you during your difficult times and helps you heal with the passage of time.

Terrisita was one of my younger cousins and she never failed to amuse and delight me. I was always, always happy to be in her company and I will miss her tremendously. Terri was a bright and funny little girl and she kept those qualities as an adult. She was a character who inherited her father's story telling abilities. Terri was so pretty, but never seemed to notice how pretty she was, and like her mother, she never seemed to age. When she was with her son and daughters, she looked more like the nanny than the mother of these three almost grown children. Wrapped up in the small package that she was, Terri was an absolute treasure, a gift to our entire family. I grieve with the rest of the family, but I chose to focus on my gratitude for the times shared with Terrisita; thanking God for her presence in our lives. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kevin, Sr., the children, Aunt Maggie, Derrick, Robin and Terri's niece and nephews. Be comforted in the promise of eternal life and know that you will be with Terri again.

To the Porter and Boone families,
I was sad to hear the news of my friend classmate from Southeast High School Terri Boone. I will missed her smile and her love she gave to the Southeast family and to the city of Greensboro. I must say we had some good times back in day attending social and other events given by Guy and Dolls and Jack and Jill in Greensboro. I remember Terri as the head cheerleader at Southeast, honor student and school queen. Terri was a young lady who was deeply loved by parents and family but never took advantage of that love.
I know that she was a child of God and he has a angel in heaven with him. Rest in peace Terri and one day I hope to meet again.
