Thelma Green Obituary
THELMA ANN GREEN
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing away of Thelma Ann Green. She was raised in Washington, DC and graduated from Cardozo High School in 1954. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023. She is survived by her devoted husband, Benjamin; her two children Brian Green and Talitha Green Ling, and their spouses Sharon and David, five adoring grandsons, Jack, Benjamin, Thomas, Alex, and Eric, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A visitation and service will be held on September 1 at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 14999 Birchdale Ave., Dale City, VA 22193 followed by her burial at Quantico National Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of meeting Thelma in Castro Valley, CA. She was a loving, happy woman. I loved hearing her stories and talking to her when I got the chance. Condolences to the family, I miss and think of her always.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family. Miss Thelma will certainly be missed. She was a very sweet, kind, and gentle lady. I delivered mail to the home and she would always offer me something cold to drink. I also ate lunch with Ben on the job every day for approximately 10 years. I am praying for and with you that God will give you the strength, comfort, and peace that surpasses all understanding.

While Thelma was working at Potomac Library I started working at Central Library. At least once a week or so we'd be talking on the telephone hunting for a book that was needed at the other building. Thelma's warm and cheerful voice always made me smile and we knew the book would get to where it was needed.

What a great lady. I was honored to be able to work with her. She was unfailingly kind to me, and to all the library staff and patrons. She was a true community asset.
