Theodore Lerner Memoriam

Lerner
Theodore N. Lerner "Ted"
American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HU) are deeply saddened by the passing of business leader, Washington Nationals owner, and philanthropist Ted Lerner (z"l). As head of the Lerner Family Foundation, Mr. Lerner was a generous supporter of nonprofit organizations in Israel and the United States, including those focused on Holocaust history, education, and human health. His philanthropy and involvement advanced several community agencies and Jewish organizations in the Washington, DC area. Mr. Lerner and his family have been longstanding advocates for HU and dedicated patrons of the Annette and Theodore Lerner Family Indoor Sports Complex.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Annette; his son, Mark Lerner (Judy); his daughters, Debra Lerner Cohen (Edward) and Marla Lerner Tanenbaum (Robert); his nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. May they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
