Dr. Hudson was the FIRST of many professors at Howard University who actually taught me how to write. He was a brilliant, beautiful human being, and now--at 59 years old and a 36-year veteran English teacher--one of the only regrets that I have is never having told him so. I know he stands among the greats, and I know that if God is good and has the sense of humor I know he has, I WILL see him again to say thank you for being a worthy example of what an educator should be.

Dr. Hudson was the BEST English Literature Professor EVER!!! Dr. Hudson was my English Literature Professor at Howard University.
He was an outstanding scholar and instructor. I learned so much about Negro/Black writers from the writing formation, thoughts, patterns, background from Dr. Hudson. He wanted us to understand the totality of the Negro writer. It was so rich!
I loved when he would read the stories of Simple by Langston Hughes. It inspired me so much that I wrote a poem and entered into a contest and I won an Honorary Mention from the Academy of American Poets.
He shared stories with the class of interviews of The Black Panther, Eldridge Clever and the book, Soul on Ice.
I'm proud to say that I was blessed to be a student of his. To me, it's like yesterday, that I was going to his class, my favorite class! He also had a good sense of humor and wonderful outlook on life. A cheery and pleasant smile always greeting students. Thank you, Dr. Hudson and I'll always be grateful to you. You made a significant contribution. Again, many thanks. May you rest in peace!

Ted was a prince of a gentleman. A wonderful friend and supporter of the Peoples Jazz Society. We will miss his joyful presence in our midst. We will forever cherish his memory. Peace and Blessings to the Hudson family and friends.
