Thomas Leo Ahern
Thomas Leo Ahern passed away in Charleston SC on September 1, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer. Tom was a presence. When he entered a room, you knew it. He brought a unique joie de vivre to everything he did and everyone he knew. Born to Thomas and Marie (nee Morrison) Ahern on May 14, 1946 in St Albans, Queens. Tom is survived by his life partner Vickie J. Moore, his sisters Barbara and Carol and many beloved nieces, nephews, and grand nieces/nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother James. A US Army veteran, Tom enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an entrepreneur, starting in his beloved Ocean Beach, NY and eventually founding Business Products Group in Annapolis, MD. He most recently lived in the District of Columbia area. Tom had a gusto for life that was exemplified by his passion for navigating the nooks and crannies of the Chesapeake Bay and his innate ability to make even more friends while skiing, enjoying fine wines and cigars or taking a mallet to Maryland hard shell crabs. Always reminding friends of his NY roots, Tom reveled in his trips back "home", to see family, attend the latest Broadway plays and savor the steaks at Peter Lugers. He will be profoundly missed. He was dearly loved. Tom will return to his beloved Annapolis for his final resting place. There will be a graveside service, with a celebration of his life to follow.

Tom and I go way back, Tom was a very unique and interesting man. I have so many great memories of Tom and Vickie and the good times we had together. I have attached a couple of photo's that I think capture Tom at his best. I will miss Tom and treasure our friendship forever. He was a guy that truly lived life on his terms, and will be sorely missed. RIP my friend. Mike McCarthy
