Hello. Tom Bartman was a friend of mine and I was saddened to hear that he left us. As my condolences go to his family, I am obligated to state that the obituary on his legacy site is not written by me. I can assume it was written by someone who knew me and knew about my friendship with Tom. I am asking the admin of this site to kindly remove the obituary that someone else has written using my name. Thank you. Edris Nawin / Washington D.C.

Dear Nenie, Caroline, and Jane,
There is little to add to what has already been said but I've known Tom from church for almost 15 years and he was the most thoughtful, devoted, kind and totally effective man I've dealt with. No job was too large or too small for him and he did them all with joy and total dedication--both to God and to his family as well. His time with you and with us was much too short. May our prayers support you all and may God's arms encircle you, just as Tom's did, to give you comfort. He will not be forgotten and he has left you all a legacy of love.

I can only imagine the loss you are feeling at this time. Although I never knew Tom, it is obvious he was a wonderful person to have so many people that love and care for him. He is now precious in God's eyes as Psalm 116:15 says. I pray it brings you comfort to know that he is now in God's memory and will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear Bartman Family:
I am so sorry to learn of Tom's passing, and regret that I missed the memorial service. He always had a smile and a kind word for me, especially during my painful divorce. I am glad his suffering has ended, and I look forward to joining him in singing praises to God in the heavenly choir one day.

Dear Nenie,
Tom leaving this earth so young is a shock, but I'm so glad he had you and the girls to make his life so rich! I remember well your wedding and recently came across a photo of all the Judge's clerks together with you. I wish I could have been at the service but John R. says it was perfect! I am talking to the two Johns about meeting in Gloucester for our own reunion in the not too distant future, and would love to have you attend as well. We could spend the whole time telling stories and celebrating your Tom. With affection and many hugs, Rene

Dear Bartman family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Tom and developed a friendship with him during his work at the Interior. We enjoyed some time searching for documents in Lenexa, KS and a great steak dinner in Kansas City! He will be missed by the OHTA Tribal Team as well as by all. May the Great Spirit carrying him on the wings of an Eagle to the heavens above. May the love of family and friends carry you through...

Dear Bartmans,
I have many wonderful memories of Tom -- visiting him at UVA long ago, sharing meals with him recently at Indian, Mexican and Mediterranean restaurants, singing some of his favorite hymns with him, and walking around your neighborhood while he told me all about his favorite landmarks. I was so impressed with his knowledge of music and German, and his love of learning in general. Our family will miss him very much! Love to all of you.
