Dear Mr. Pryde (Thomas),
Sorry I can't call you Thomas so easily, but know that it was always because I have such a high esteem and deep respect for you sir. You are one of the most special people I have ever known. The impact you had on my father as a child when you were his teacher and took on a fatherly role for him when he needed your guidance most, will never be forgotten, but is celebrated everyti.e we revel in your memory, your legacy. We were blessed with such a great dad because of your influence and compassion you bestowed on him, by you. Your influence seeped all the way through onto his children. As I have great Pryde in my grammar and a love of words. Having written many poems as a child and endless journal entries, I played with language, as a Smith would manipulate steel. My love for writing stemmed from your encouragement of reading and love of books, in your very special and unique way that you touched people. 9 years later and I still cry writing these words. You were quite impactful during your time on this Earth. I know you are still working up above, guiding, influencing, and shedding love. Thank you for all you ever did in the life you had. I wear your wife's name as my middle name with Pryde, especially as it always reminds me where it comes from and why. Thank you! May peace be yours for eternity. Until we meet again. Cheers up in heaven Mr. Thomas Pryde.

Prohibido olvidar.

The World has lost a great man, a unique human being, an incredible educator and I have lost a wonderful friend. I met Professor Pryde when I decided to get my degree in Education once my youngest son was in second grade. I had been assigned to a basic English lass and once I spoke he literally threw me out and told me to go get placed in an advanced class. He brought out the best in me and in all of his students. He worked us hard to make us better than we ever imagined we could be. Today I make sure there is PRYDE in my teaching.
We maintained a friendship even after I moved to Florida 9 years ago, and shared many a cold schwa. You will be missed dear friend, yet I know one day we will meet again. Love you much professor, mentor, friend. God bless you always.
