THOMAS LEROY WONG (Age 85)
On March 30, 2017, in Kensington, MD, Beloved husband of 61 years to Elizabeth Chin Wong; father of Thomas Andrew, Gary Alan (Lisa), Richard Henry (Madhu) and Timothy Chris; and grandfather of Sophia and Alex Wong. Thomas Leroy is survived by his brother, George Wong. His sister, Nina Wong predeceased him.He was born the son of Thomas Wong and Helen Montoya in Durango, Colorado. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and graduated from Central High School, American University and Georgetown Dental School all in Washington, DC. He practiced Dentistry for over 50 years in Hyattsville, Maryland and was a lifetime member of the American Dental Association.Private services were previously held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Kensington, MD on Wednesday, April 5.In his memory, the family requests that donations be made in the name of Thomas Leroy Wong, DDS to the JSSA Hospice, 6123 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD 20852 or the Chinese Community Church, 500 I Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.

Sending my deepest sympathies to the Wong Family. Although I did not personally meet Dr. Wong, I can only imagine his greatness as a dentist, father, friend, and loved one. His son, Dr. Thomas A Wong, embodies the life of a man for others. Dr. Wong would be proud of all the guidance and mentoring Dr. Thomas A Wong has provided to his students. I am so sorry for the loss of Uncle Tom but grateful for being part of his life. He was a kind and gentle soul with a good sense of humor. He generously took care of many people in the family and I appreciate his dental care when I had a car accident as a college student abroad. I will miss him.

I was blessed to have been included in the service to commemorate the beautiful life of Dr. Wong. It is always sad to lose a loved one, especially a man of such character, but in remembering and celebrating his life we are reminded what we all aspire to when it comes to family. I am grateful to have learned more about the strong, dedicated man he was from his wife and children. God bless you, Wong family!
