TILDA REDWAY Obituary


TILDA KAUFFMANN REDWAY  
Passed away peacefully on February 25, 2018, at age 89. Tilda and her husband, Jim Redway raised five children in Washington, DC. In her later years, Tilda studied to be a nurse and was a hospice volunteer. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. She was a great supporter of the National Parks and loved to ski, hike and spend time at her home in Markham Virginia. Following the death of her husband, Tilda moved to Sacramento, California to be close to her daughter. Tilda was born on February 29, 1928 in Beijing to Danish Ambassador Henrik Kauffmann and Charlotte Macdougall. She attended Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Virginia and Vassar College. She married Albert James Redway, III at St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, DC on December 19, 1948. Tilda was predeceasedby her husband, Jim and her son, David. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Lisa Walker; her children, Jake, Kate (Redway-Rosenfield), Nini and Jon; her grandchildren, Rene (Ohana), Charlotte, Sam, Bettina, Ben (Rosenfield), Nate (Rosenfield), Ethan, Eliza and Alex; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan (Ohana), Lucia and Eliza. Services to be announced at a later date.
