Tyrone,

A year has gone by so fast (in fact, it seems time goes by much too fast these days!) ... it's still hard to believe you're not here ... and I don't think I'll ever get over missing that last phone call you made to me. I miss you much -- and always will -- but the memories made throughout our friendship will never be forgotten, and the many ways you enriched my life will stay with me always. You made my life special in so many ways ...

Love always,
E

Hey Dad
Wed (a day from now) will mark the one year of your death. Time has went by so fast and I can't believe your gone for one and two its been a year. They say that in time it will get better, but for me it only gets harder. Sometimes I feel so robbed but I don't want to get into that. Nana and I spend a lot of time together and have a lot of fun. We are planning a trip to San Felipe where you guys went a few years back. I kept pressuring her until she gave in lol (laugh out loud) you were never into slang.
Well I miss you more than you'll ever know..I love you

Big Daddy,
It is hard for us here. It still cry and miss you and the pain as only slightly lessened. I sent your mother some flowers for your birthday, as I'm sure it was most difficult for her. We went to see Tyler Perry's new movie and had a good time. I try to draw from her strength and hope she can draw from mine. I love you and look forward to seeing you in my dreams.

Mrs. Cobb, Benny, David, Tyisha and Kristina, my heart is heavy and Tyrone passing is a great loss, your faith and love of God will in deed help you through this time of sorrow.

Ty, in my photo memories of life, the 1st time you, David, Adrian and I met 41+ yrs ago, we became the best of true friends, the friendship that you and my brother (Adrian) shared was truly incredible!! The trust, respect and give the shirt off my back attitude is more then noteworthy. After Adrian died you kept his sprit alive and with you I had a part of him still here on earth. But God has a plan for all of us and your work on earth is done. Your zest for life, living on the edge and your thirst for adventure is incredible. You and Adrian are once again hanging out and having a party but if you both can find a way, cause I'm sure you will try ;-) give us (your family & friends) a visit. Until we meet again my FRIEND...

A brother Who knew

June 27, 2008

Ty, your in a better place, no more chicken wings and things, no more getting down and around, no more not knowing, because I know you are free from all that, and we are all left here to put up with it. You were a good friend and we appreciated each others opinions. You'll be happy to know I choose HIM, hope to see you on the other side. Rest in peace my brother!

Dear Tyrone/My friend/My brother: I'll never forget the time when we first met, back in 1979. Man..you were the best skate boarder in Riggs Park. I could not wait to finally get an opportunity to meet you, I had heard so much about your talents. Adrienne put the word out there. Once we met, we instantly became friends, so much of a friend that we formed our own little skateboard team "RIVERA SKATES". :-) Those were the good old days! Adrianne was called Ago; My name was Dgo, and Ty remember your name was Tgo. I'll never forget that, for as long as I live. Peace brothers until we meet again.

It has taken a while for me to grasp the sudden death of Ty. Ty was so much more to me than just a friend for the past 5 years. When I arrived in D.C. in 2003, God sent Tyrone as a gift to me and my children. Even after departing the area, the gift remained by my side. Ty was fun, carefree and loved life; and the love for his mother showed each time he spoke of her. I grieve deeply for the loss of Tyrone Cobb. There is an old hymn we still sing in the south called May the Works I Done Speak for Me. When I'm resting in my grave, I want to hear Him say Well Done. Mrs. Marianne Cobb, Tyrone Cobb, WELL DONE. May the Peace of our Lord Be with you Always.

Tyrone, when I think about us growing up on Hamilton St., you and crazy Adrienne teaching me how to drive Mrs. Johnson's car home from the movies and all the crazy things that we did. I laugh all the time about the good old days! Ty, I remember that blue dirt bike that you had and we went riding, was I crazy or was I crazy, but we still had fun. I guess you and Adrienne are back together, I can't believe that you are gone and you will forever be in my prayers. To Tyrone's Mother, Daughter and Family, you have my deepest sympathy and Ty will be missed, from Raymona 912 Hamilton Street.

Ty touched so many in his walk through life as his spirit and love of others was demonstrated through his every movement. He was a man of class and dignity who always placed others needs above his own. He will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. My deepest sympathies.

Tyrone --Your professional approach, passion for your trade, and desire to assist others will be how I will continue to describe you to others. "Thanks for responding promptly and knowledgeably to my maintenance service calls -- You set the building and maintenance bar so high -- Very few men are able to reach it." May you rest in the arms of our Savior, Jesus The Christ --

My Dear Tyrone,

You were a trip, an experience and an adventure. You showed others that life is for the taken. "You get what you get when you go for it". It was a pleasure being in your presence. You did enough living for all of us and you forever pushed the envelope of humanity for us all as an example of what a human being can become and contribute to his fellow man. I will certainly miss you my friend. There were many roads we had yet to venture down, but I am comforted by the fact that you went down many roads with and without me. And although you will know longer be physically with us, I know that your spirit will always be around. Boat drinks my friend! Boat drinks!

Dear Family,
Last year around this time I saw Tyrone and his daughter at the IRL Race here in Richmond, and not only was it a pleasant surprise, we also had a great time talking about familiy and the cookouts and times during the summers in D.C. I really was looking forward to seeing him again this year, but God had a greater race for Ty to be a part of. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. May God richly Bless and keep you.
