Lulu, Gregory, Ulysses and Dina:
Our hearts go out to you at the passing of Blackie. We appreciate your kindness to us that has extended through the years - back to 1982 when we were just married and your family rented us our first apartment. We know God is good and He will comfort your hearts, but we wanted you to know that our prayers are with you.
God bless you!

To dearest Lulu and children -- Greg, Ulysses, and Dina -- I extend my deepest sympathy on the loss of Blackie, my friend for many years. He was always there for me and my family, and his absence is grievous indeed to all of us. I rejoice that he is in the presence of his Lord and Saviour, where I hope to join him.

To the Auger Family,
I knew Blackie through my father, Howard Rosenberg, who was the structural engineer for many of Blackie's projects through his former company, GMR Ltd. I also dined at Blackie's restaurants as a young girl and attended the grand opening of the restaurant out in Virginia many years ago. Blackie was one of kind and he will be greatly missed by many. May God grant you many blessings during this difficult time.

To the Auger Family:
I wish to convey my deepest sympathies to all of you. My father, Savvas Mikedes worked as a waiter at Blackie's House of Beef for many years, and my father and my mother, Mary Mikedes used to play "penny" pinnocle with Blackie. Gregory, you and I used to work togeher at Dominiques Restaurant on Pa Ave many years ago. Blackie will be missed by those of us in the restuarant industry. He was as an innovator and superior restauranteur. The DC community will miss him greatly. Our families' prayers are with you all. May God grant Blackie his eternal reward. Rest in peace.

To Gregory and all of the Auger family I wish to express my deepest sympathy on the loss of one of the "legends" of the restaurant business. My years as "The Prince of Rock and Roll" at Deja Vu , were some of my greatest memories, and Gregory and the Auger family were always so very nice and kind to me. May "Blackie" rest in peace.
