Valerie Benjamin Obituary

BENJAMIN VALERIE R. BENJAMIN In loving memory of Valerie Rickard Benjamin who was called to heaven October 12, 2009. She was born February 14, 1934 in Great Yarmouth, England to the late Frederick and Millicent Martins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John S. Rickard. She was the devoted wife and best buddy of Walter L. Benjamin of Fredericksburg, VA. They were married for 30 wonderful years. She was the loving mother of four children, Sheryl Morrow and her husband, Mark, Tania Shinohara and her husband, Austin, Michelle Godfrey and her husband, Brian and Ronald Willis and his wife, Opal. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, Mark and John Morrow, Caitlin and Connor McCartney, Erin, Ryan and Jared Godfrey and Margo Willis. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Martins and his wife, Heather, and her sister, Thelma Hunt of Great Yarmouth, England. She was loved by everyone who knew her and her kind, gentle spirit will be missed by all. The family will receive friends at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City VA on Thursday, October 15 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle VA at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude''s Children''s Research Hospital.
