Vicki Lynn Ratcliffe

Ms. Vicki Lynn Ratcliffe, of Alexandria, VA, passed away October 19, 2025. Vicki, born June 15, 1951, was the daughter of May and Leo Ratcliffe. She is survived by her twin sister Deborah, her Aunt Thelma and several cousins.
Vicki graduated from Lynchburg University in 1973. She traveled to Avignon, France for postgraduate study, which propelled her to a life of world-wide traveling and adventures. Vickie always had her next trip planned. Because Vicki was a fearless traveler, she has friends throughout the United States and in foreign countries. Vicki had a long and successful career as a public servant with the federal government as a computer specialist. She excelled as a technology expert and mentor for visually impaired individuals, and beta tested many assistive technology products. Vicki's indomitable spirit led her to pursue innovative approaches for accessible travel, mobility and education of blind students.
Vicki loved being outside whether it was tandem biking, kayaking and cross country skiing with New England Ski for Light, swimming in the pool or sitting on her balcony in her beloved condominium community. Vicki also loved singing; she sang with many community choirs, including an international on-line choir during the pandemic, and was a decades long member of the Northern Virginia Community College Choir. She was also an active member of the American Council for the Blind and Fairlington United Methodist Church.
Loved and admired by friends, family and community, her dynamic spirit is eternally present. A celebration of Vicki's life will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 11 a.m. at Fairlington United Methodist Church, 3900 King St., Alexandria, VA. with a reception to follow in the church's Fellowship Hall.
