Dr. VINCENT WENTWORTH HOLLIS, JR. (Age 91)
Passed away peacefully at his home in Rockville, MD on Friday, October 1, 2021. Beloved husband of 71 years to Shirley E. Hollis; loving father of Dr. Vincent W. Hollis III (Vaimanaia), Los Alamitos, CA, Leslie W. Hollis (Regina), Glenwood, MD, Terence M. Hollis, Rockville, MD, and Michael D. Hollis, New Jersey, and very special to a host of family and friends. He received his B.A. from New York University, his MS from George Washington University, and his Ph.D. from Georgetown University. Vincent spent 11 years at the National Institutes of Health in cancer research and 35 years as a Professor at Howard University in the Biology Department. Relatives and friends may call at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD, Tuesday, October 12 for viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gonzaga College High School, 19 Eye Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 or to JSSA, 6123 Montrose Rd., Rockville, MD 20852.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

I'm so sorry to hear of Vincent's passing. I have many great memories talking with Vincent at the Branche family get togethers. He was a genuinely nice person with a fantastic laugh.
