I met Dr. Roux on the golf course as a member of the Pro Duffers golf club. The story gets better. As a teeenager my brother and I used to go to New Orleans in the summer and we would frequent a night club called the Cafe Roux. Fast forward 45 years and I meet the guy whose parents owned that night club!! He became my Doctor and literally saved my life! He insisted he become my doctor and take a complete physical where he found Prostrate cancer. I had an operation and am alive today because of Dr. Vinny!! RIP my friend and Doctor.

Although Dr. Roux has left his worldly life, to those of us who knew him while here on earth, his memories will last forever, because he was such a caring and "down-to-earth" individual who could spend time with anyone with whom he came in contact. He always made others feel important. My fond memory of him is when he coached the Howard U. Hospital Ladies Softball team, on which I played - I believe I was the pitcher at some time during his coaching. He was a good and fair coach, and I enjoyed playing for him. As I recall, he was Medical Director of the Hospital at that time. Afterwards, I felt that I knew the kind of person Dr. Roux was - one who could "walk and talk" with anyone. I was so sorry when I heard of his passing. May he Rest in Peace. And to the family, even though you are missing him, you will always have fond memories of him, and may you have peace and blessings from this day forward.

Sending much love and sympathy to Lois and her beautiful family. Vincent was my dear friend who possessed a special spirit of friendship. I cherish the memory of the time some old friends and family enjoyed with him last summer. As with days in New Orleans, and throughout his years in the DC area, his wit and his genuine welcoming ways were still present. He will be remembered with much affection. May God grant his soul eternal rest.

Lois, our sincere condolences to you and your family. We all met at Xavier but perhaps Vincent and I discovered each other sometimes later. We enjoyed several days of golf sometimes in the 80s and perhaps got to know each other much more intensely . He was a wonderful, kind, considerate and caring person whom I shall miss and remember always. Barbara and I will pray for God's acceptance of Vincent and healing and comfort for you and the family.

Dear Lois and family, I am so sorry to hear about Vincent's passing, He and I go back to being together as children at St. Joan of Arc school on Burthe St. back home. Then I met you at St. Peter Claver in later years. I believe his parents and mine knew each other. If you need me for anything, I am right here in DC close to the Maryland line. Take care and God bless you and the kids, Love to all, Bettye Heath Wilkinson

From our days at Xavier University until his transition to life eternal, Vincent has been a true friend. His astute medical knowledge even told my late husband how long before his kidneys would fail. God endowed him with a tremendous gift of medicine. Lois you are very dear to my heart and for these 63 years of friendship with you and your family, I am eternally grateful. I am confident that God has planned a reunion for us because He said in His word, "The dead in Christ will rise first and we who are alive and remain will be caught up together to meet in the air." We take comfort in those words as we look back on the fond memories and forward to the reunion. Friends forever, with love
