VINCENTE PULUPA

Vincente Andrango Pulupa  (Age 98)  
Of Bethesda, MD, departed this life on December 9, 2020. Vincente was the widower of Feliciana Casa Pulupa, who was the love and light of his life during their 71-year marriage. He was the beloved father of Jorge (Tran) Pulupa, René (Ellen) Pulupa, proud grandfather of Vincent L. (Rebecca) Pulupa and Diana T. Pulupa. Grandfather to Patrick E. (Kaye) Pulupa and Marc P. (Robin) Pulupa, Matthew C. Pulupa (deceased), Catherine Mar��a Pulupa (Ken), and Joan M. Pulupa (Tim). He was the loving great-grandfather to five greatgrandchildren: Dylan, Orson, Henry, Olivia, and Benjamin. Vincente was the elder brother to NicolÁs, José M., Francisco, and Rafael Pulupa. He was uncle, godfather and great-uncle to many nephews, nieces, and their children. Born in Calderón, Quito Ecuador, Vincente worked since he was a youngster. He assisted in his father's floral business and later at the age of 13 learned to drive, hired by an antique collector in Quito. Vincente and Feliciana came to the states as diplomatic staff for the Ambassador from Ecuador, President Galo Plaza in 1944. They raised their two sons in the U.S.A. Vincente was a skilled, courteous, self-educated tour guide, taxi owner and franchisee to Carey Limo. As a top chauffeur, he drove celebrities, politicians, executives and everyday people with style and finesse. Work, family, sports, and his dedication to Feliciana marked his life. He valued his sons and grandchildren's academic accomplishments. A competitive soccer and tennis player himself, Vincente took pride in his family's achievements in sports. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the Church of the Little Flower, 5607 Massachusetts Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20816 on Tuesday, December 22 at 12 p.m. with interment to follow, Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
