Virginia Harpham Obituary

HARPHAM VIRGINIA RUTH HARPHAM (Age 91) Former Principal Second Violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra, died of cancer in Bethesda, MD on April 13, 2009. She was a resident of Washington, DC. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10:30 am at Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, 4444 Arlington, Blvd., Arlington, VA. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Don Barringer) of Arlington, VA; son, George (Sylvaine Hinglais) of Paris, France and two grandchildren, Solange and Mathis of Paris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSU Foundation (for Virginia Harpham Music Scholarship), 150 University Blvd., Box 1887, Morehead, KY 40351 or to the Friday Morning Music Club, Inc. Attn: Ass''t Treas., 801 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20001.
