Walter Hill Obituary

HILL Dr. WALTER B. HILL, Jr. On Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Dr. Walter B. Hill, Jr. of Mitchellvile, MD, departed this life. Devoted husband, father, friend, mentor, historian and teacher. Born on May 22, 1949, he was the Senior Achivist and Subject Area Specialist for African-American History at the National Archives and Records Administration. He was employed at the Archives since 1978. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Irene; son, Matthew; daughter, Alexis; sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Bobbie Watts and Marie Love and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation on August 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. service to begin at 11 a.m. at Largo Community Church, 1701 Enterprise Rd., Mitchellville, MD. Contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Association for the Study of African-American Life and History. Arrangements J.B. JENKINS FUNERAL HOME.
