Dear Family,
I’m a neighbor of Wendell, but just found out yesterday he passed. He will truly be missed by me and my family. I’m going to miss waving out him in his midnight blue rodeo truck, and chatting with him in the yard, especially in the spring and summer time. My condolence goes out to the family and friends.
Sincerely
Kathy, Luke and Monique

Wendell, Was the greatest, he took so many wonderful pictures of me. The best pictures that he took of me was when I was 8 months, not even over a year since he took those. I will truly miss him, we always had good times and great conversations. He got me started modeling a couple of years ago, and I don't do it now, but words can't describe the person he was. Rest in Peace, and I send my condolence to his family. I just found out that he passed yesterday, and it hurts so bad, but everyone has there path to follow.

It is interesting how things can happen so fast. I had just spoken with him twice before is crossing over to the other side of the road. It was always interesting how we would discussed models and our views on the photography industry. I never met him in person but for the last year we were always in contact with each other almost several times per month. I would hope that the family archive his work and maybe create some type of coffee table book for safe-keeping. Wendall's work was like no other and many people from around the world would just love to go his website and gaze at all the beautiful and artistic photography of this great man...
He will surely be missed but his work will forever be planted in our mind.....
Thank You Wendall for being truthful and all of our conversations...your spirit shall always be in my heart.

Wendell,
I am going to miss you. I thank you for being you and for being a good brother in law to me. I will miss chatting with you online, you would always be working!!! Sometimes you took a few minutes out to chat and you would always crack me up. I think what I will remember the most about you is your sense of humor. I love you, and I will miss you greatly.
Love Always,
Your sister in law

Dear Family,
Every once and a while you come across someone in your lifetime who crosses your path and leaves a lasting impression. That was Wendell. I just found out last night when I read the paper and I am so devastated. Wendell photographed my wedding 4 years ago and has been in my life ever since. Everybody enjoyed him so much! I would not let another soul take pictures of me or my family. But he was more than just my photographer. I considered him a friend. He was so real and I loved that about him. May he rest in peace and keep taking pictures of the heavens!
My deepest sympathy to you Mom and the rest of the family.
Sincerely

Dear Family,
I have been friends with Denise (one of Wendell's older sisters) since we were in college and as a result, i have gotten to meet most of her family members. Even though I didn't know Wendell well, but over 20 years, i did notice how much he was there for his family; he really displayed, agape love-the kind that flows from heart to heart and breast to breast, and that love never dies-please take comfort in the fact that now Wendell has gone home to take his rest-rest in the bosom of the Father, where suffering has ended and everyday is Sunday.
Blessings,
Rita

Farewell My Brother:
Words can not begin to express the pain I feel right now... My heart is heavy for many reasons...I NEVER got the chance to come see about you...to "make you laugh," and to hold your hand and let you know that you were not alone.
If I had known for just one second, that Jan. 11, 2006, when I last spoke to you, would be the last time I would hear your voice, I would have NEVER hung up the phone and said good-bye...
Your memories shall never die. You have enriched so many people's lives by just being who you are. My family (David Sr, Danielle and David Jr.) and I will always remember how much you loved us and all that you have done for us.
We will miss you so much, brother...

dear family,
i met wendell at new zion baptist church in elizabeth nj when he was a young teen. he and his sister denise had adopted my mother as their hanging buddy.
my first thought was "who is this crazy boy?" he used to make me laugh so much -- you never knew what he would say or sometimes, what he was saying, because he would create his own words!
and, he loved to dance and would use chairs and table as part of his act.
When wendell's interest in photography became his new passion, he would bring his camera everywhere, and constantly snap pictures of everyone and everything.
after wendell relocated to d.c., i missed him; but,we kept in touch. my daughter, erica and i did visit him in d.c., though we never did get to maryland.
i have carried wendell in my heart since he moved to d.c., so i'll just keep on carrying him.
my condolences to all of you,
brenda
Wendell was a breath of fresh air in a world where people are rarely sincere or genuine. I will truly miss him!
