Willette, almost on the daily, I read the new and old sign-in's. It encourages me when on the down low, in-knowing what a servant of Christ you were. For those of us who love the Lord, we are constantly attacked by friends; associates; family; and Church; so we need to keep encouraging each other. Loving the Lord, comes with a price, but the benefits that we reap, "Will be phenomenal." A testimony for Christ, you are definite proof. Now you are up there high above the sky with wings to fly; an agent of Christ still at work and alive. The many soldiers you have left behind are down here working keeping your memory and hope alive with many sayings. The guest book has beoome a Bible. Your family may miss you, but knowing where you are, "I am sure that they are not mourning." Just reading the guest book puts so much inside you that there lies a spirit, that only God's children can recognize or relate to. Bless you Willette. I hope that you meet my sister while you are there, you guys are the same age and blessed with the same material inside... love for the Lord and loving others.

Big Will, that's how I knew you, and how I will remember you. Like some many people have said. You was a "Wonderful Woman" doing Big Things in the city. I don't know to many women that was like you. Always had something to say, and for the most part it was "true"! rather you was ready for it or not. Willette was going to tell you, and you was going to listen. You had to respect what she was telling you because she was not going to tell you anything to hurt you. 99 time is was helping. She was for the people, all people. It was a Blessing if she gave you words of wisdom. She was a angle and a light to so many. So many times she would give of herself for others. I just want to say I was one of the Lucky ones that had the chance to know such a woman as Big Will (A REAL WOMAN). You will be missed. I just hope and pray that your living was not in vain and all the people that you touched will just take a piece of what you have shared with the world to give back. I know that's something that you would have wanted us to do. God Keep You In His Perfect Piece.

I am still devastated by the mere thought that I will never see you again. I remember 15 years ago hanging out at Ziegfields with you and Woo. Going through all of the tough times in between and remembering different things you've told me throughout the years. We just lost 1. My life has truly been blessed with you in it. You had a long ride and you lived life to the fullest therefore, encouraging others to do the same.
My condolences to the entire family. We just lost a true soldier. I will always remember you, love you and respect everyword you spoke. Especially thank you for telling to keep my girlfriend and not let my past dictate my future. We are wonderful and we are 1!!!

Willette may you rest in peace. I will always remember the special talks we had and the advice you gave. DC will always remember the good times you gave the GLBT community. Your homegoing celebration was beautiful indicative of your signature style. Your east coast family came out in style. Karen and Woo looked and spoke beautifully.

Ms. Griffin,
I'm so sorry that I didn’t get a chance to say one last thing to you, but I’m sure you knew where my heart was and that I LOVED YOU DEARLY. You treated me as if I was your own from the first time I walked in your house and you laid eyes on me. I loved your son dearly and I loved you the same.
I'm so delighted that you all will be with each-other again, I'm sure they both of your children were missing you like crazy. I will never forget you LOVE and your mirthful personality.
Love you always...

OMG! They say that the good ones are taken way too soon and this seems to be the case! I remember when I was in my tens running off to the Delta, then getting a little older and dancing myself... you gave me so many words of wisdom and let me know that being Phat is being fabulous and confidence always works. I sit here thinking about conversations and words of wisdom and how you saw me grow from a girl crazied young girl to a well spoken and defined young woman.
I thank God for blessing me to have you as a presence in my life and I am sure in the heavens they are going to enjoy you as well!
You are loved and will be missed.

Family of Willette:
She touched so many lives in a positive way. Willette made sure we had a place to simply be... no judgement no fear. We were free to live, laugh, and love. I'll NEVER forget her commentary during the shows and the opportunities she gave me. "Phater than a government mule! Last call for the do it fluid! Dance children!" Man.... Willette helped me out of some sure nuff jams!!! She looked out for me during my "THICK" days and touched my heart forever! She brought so many people together and made a dent in the community. To have known Willette was to love Willette! Your work here is done. I love you!

To the Griffin Family & Karen: May GOD continue to comfort you during these times. God wanted a Rose so, he called on Ms. Willette and what a good rose to choose. God makes no mistakes and will continue to guide you and protect you during these difficulity moments. I remember Willette as a smiling person. At first it seened complicated for me to place her face as so many years have gone by. Yet, I knew exactly, who she was. Suddenly, her face came to me, just out of the clear blue skies. The years has gone by, but memories does not die. Willette, a servant of Christ, can now fly freely with no worldly weight, because she is now gone on with her God,the only God. She, will be in many memory banks for her joyful spirit. "Go Willette, dance with the stars."

A Prayer for Endurance
by William Edward Burghardt DuBois
In the midst of life and deeds it is easy to have endurance and strength and determination, but Thy Word, O Lord, teaches us that this is not enough to bring good to the world-to bring happiness and the worthier success. For this we must endure to the end-learn to finish things-to bring them to accomplishment and fruition. We must not be content with plans, ambitions, and resolves; with part of an education, but be set and determined to fulfill the promise and complete the task and secure the training. Such men and women alone does God save by lifting them above and raising them to higher worlds and wider prospects. Give us then, O God, to resist today the temptation of shirking, and grit to endure to the end. Amen.
