I just learned of Woodies passing and am saddened by the news. We were classmates at Georgetown and law school, and he always had a smile and made me laugh. Woodie was there with a helping hand for all and the world has lost a good soul. RIP fellow Hoya.

Our Condolence to the entire Johnson family. We were saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend Woodie. We met Woodie through Rev Joyce Chesley Hayward, while in Boston with our son at Mass General Hospital. Woodie was a friend to everyone he came into contact with. He reached out to us and wanted to help in any way he could. Coming from Bermuda, and did not know a lot about Boston, we needed transportation to get around. Woodie put two pedal bikes in the back of his car and brought them to us in the city. We were so grateful for those pedal bikes, there is not a place in Boston that we did not pedal. We celebrated our 20st wedding anniversary while still in Boston, we got dressed up with sneakers, put my heels in a knapsack, and pedaled to the elegant restaurant L'Espalier for dinner. Woodie was a God sent. Woodie knew our Island Bermuda, is known for our beautiful beaches and blue water, he found the best restaurant near a beach and water and took us for a seafood lunch. We had a great time together laughing and talking about everything, helping us to take our minds off our son who was lying unconscious in the hospital. It was like we knew Woodie our entire life. His heart is made of pure Love and his spirit is sweet. Every time we went to Boston, we looked him up. We will never forget what you did for us and helped us to make it through some dark and rough moments. Your memories will live on with us Woodie. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Love you Woodie, we will see you again on that great gettin up morning and wrap our loving arms around you and say Thank You Woodie! One Love! Love in Christ Jesus. Your Bermuda friends for life. Woodie was an incredible human being. We were classmates @ Georgetown 1980-82. His spirit was infectious and mind was sharp and we always shared a laugh. We reconnected and our friendship grew immeasurably over the last decade. He was a dear friend and a confidant. We are heartbroken...We offer our deepest condolences the family and friends. he will be missed by so many.

I too knew Woodie at Georgetown. He was just so happy. Happy to pass people on campus, and especially at a game. I got my last hug outside of the Tombs when our group of girls was having lunch and he jumped in for a photo with us. He brought so much to so many. We are grateful for having known him.

It was always good to see Woodie when we were in school together on Georgetown University Class of 1982. It was so good to see him at our reunions, including our last one in June 2022. He always had a smile and had such school spirit. The picture you posted captures him so well. Please accept my condolences for your loss. Woodie was really special.

I was fortunate to be a classmate of (Georgetown, '82) and fellow Hoya cheerleader with Woodie during our time on the Hilltop. He was a force of nature--full of love and joy, and he was funny (and devilish) as could be. He will be missed by so many in our class who knew and loved him. Woodie--may your gentle soul rest in eternal peace, your beautiful spirit soar forever, and every memory we each have of you be a blessing. Until we meet again on the other side, old friend. HOYA SAXA!
