ZELDA DIAMOND FICHANDLER of Washington, DC, beloved wife of the late, Thomas Fichandler; loving mother of Hal (Susan) Fichandler and Mark (Paul Travis) Fichandler; dear sister of Joyce Diamond Simons; cherished grandmother of Matthew and Emily Fichandler. Services are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen Lee Hughes Diversituy Fellowship or the Tom Fichandler Award in care of Arena Stage. Arrangements entrusted to TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, 202-514-1001.

Zelda was one of my idols in theatre. As a long time volunteer at AS she continually taught me. I honor her memory, not only for what she did for Arena and American theatre, but as a person.
