Richard Honnick Obituary

Richard L. Honnick, 80, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Brooke Army Medical Center after a brief illness with Covid. He is survived by his widow, Cynthia Honnick, three children from prior marriages, John R. Honnick, Sandra L. Hall, and Michelle L. Honnick, and five grandchildren. He is survived by his brother and his wife, Bob and Shari Hollenback, also of San Antonio, and a sister and her husband, Sally and Jim Sunstead, also of San Antonio, and their son, Jim Sunstead. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Richard was the son of the late Mitchell Honnick of Apalachin, New York, and the late Helen Legg Hollenbeck, of Spencer, Tioga County, New York. He retired in 1979 from the United States Air Force, after which he worked various jobs and continued his formal education. His service will be a private family affair as per his wishes and those of his widow. The Family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brooke Army Medical Center for their kindness and efforts in the care of Richard Honnick.
