Isabelle Borchardt Obituary

Borchardt, Isabelle

Isabelle A. Borchardt, 85, Wittenberg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 11, 2013 under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home.

She was born on July 27, 1927 in Wausau, the daughter of the late Reynolds and Edna (Hanke) Sickler.

On March 8, 1947, Isabelle was united in marriage to Raymond Borchardt in Birnamwood. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2011.

Isabelle was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg and enjoyed gardening and baking her special chocolate-mint cookies for her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending time with her large family.

Survivors include seven children, Ron (Bev) Borchardt, Manitowoc, Mike (Dar) Borchardt, Jim Borchardt, both of Wittenberg, Sue Bushman, Weston, Mary (Dave) Dahlman, Menasha, Allen (JoAnn) Borchardt, Eland and Bob (Laurie) Borchardt, Waukesha; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; her twin sister, Vernabelle (Harold) Fleck, Rolling Meadows, IL; her brother, Larry (Pat) Sickler, Birnamwood; in-laws, Bernice Sickler, Wittenberg, Lorraine Borchardt, Waukesha, John (Rita) Borchardt, Schofield, Herb (Donna) Borchardt, South Beloit, IL and Bernice Bossell, Cadott. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Isabelle was preceded in death by one brother, Gordon Sickler and two brothers-in-law, Donald Borchardt and Clarendon Bossell.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg. Visitation will be on Friday from 9am until the time of services at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements. The family guestbook and condolences are available at schmidtschulta.com.
