Jane M. Huck

1933 - 2025

Jane M. Huck, 92, of Waverly, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community.

Jane was born on August 18, 1933, in Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of Marie (Wegner) and Louis Haag. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumner. Jane graduated from Sumner High School in 1951 and Iowa State Teachers College in 1953, earning her Teacher's Certificate. She then taught school in Allison, and on June 28, 1953, was united in marriage to Willis Huck at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumner. Jane stayed home while her four boys were young and later worked as a librarian at the Waverly Public Library from 1963 until her retirement in 1993. After over 71 years of marriage, Willis passed away in January of 2025.

Jane was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and caring for her plants and flowers. She also liked to travel and go camping. Most of all, she treasured time spent with family.

Jane is survived by her sons, Kalvin (Cheryl) Huck of Arvada, Colorado, Kenneth (Julie) Huck of Indianola, Kerry (Tami) Huck of Marshalltown, and Keith (Lorri) Huck of Waverly; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barbara Haag of Sycamore, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by Willis; her parents; three brothers, Raymond, Howard (Marilyn) and James (Caroline) Haag; and two sisters, Marie and Marion Haag.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on September 8, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Schools with Pastor Nikoli Falenschek presiding. Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 service time at the church; burial will follow in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly.
