Kye M. Case

1997 - 2014

Kye M. Case, 17, of Shell Rock, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, on the home farm.

Kye was born Sept. 15, 1997, his due date, the son of Chad and Tia (Becker) Case. Kye had worked for B.W. Contractors in Cedar Falls and Casey's in New Hartford. He was currently a junior at Waverly-Shell Rock High School, where he was a member of the cross country and wrestling teams and a two-year member of the football team. He was also active in the Trinity United Methodist Youth Group.

Kye loved all types of music and reading. He enjoyed being outdoors in any way possible. Honest and straightforward, he had the uncanny ability to talk to people, not at people. His inquisitive nature and thirst for knowledge are what helped Kye find out how and why things worked. Kye was always eating something; Chinese was his favorite.

Kye is survived by his parents, Chad and Tia Case, of Shell Rock; sister Cloey and brother Remington, both of Shell Rock; grandparents, Sam and Joyce Case, of Shell Rock, Greg and Wendy Becker, of Janesville, and Debbie and Steve Wrage, of Cedar Falls; great grandparents, Charlie Case, of Wabasha, Minn., Marge Blickenderfer, of Waterloo, and Marge Wrage, of Waverly; aunts and uncles, Jennifer Case of Union, Kari (John) Bonnet, of East Dubuque, Ill., Lindsey (Andy) Eibey, of Janesville, and Axel Wrage, of Cedar Falls; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by great-grandparents, Melvin and Linda Daugherity, Glen and Virginia Becker, Marvin Wrage, and Wilbur Benham; and cousins, Alex Swygman and Oliver Palmer.

Celebration of Life Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly with the Rev. Deb Wise officiating. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.
