Patsy Freerks Obituary

Patsy "Pat" Freerks, 71, of Waverly, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Pinnacle Specialty Care in Cedar Falls.
Patsy Ann Freerks was born on Sept. 27, 1945, the daughter of Oliver Theodore and Violet Mathilda (Wilken) Freerks in Waverly. She was confirmed at the First United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley rural Clarksville. She attended country school in Nashua and Clarksville and graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville in 1964. She then attended Waterloo School of Beauty Culture, graduating on October of 1965. Patsy worked at the Chinese Restaurant in Waterloo while attending beauty school. She then ran her own beauty shop in Waverly for over 40 years. Pat then went to work for the Iowa DOT in Waterloo for 11 years. She also sold Mary Kay products for several years.
Survivors are her son, Ryan Scriver, of Des Moines; sister, Linda (Brad) Ellison, of Fredericksburg; brother, Allen (Sandra) Freerks, of Plainfield; special friend, Robert Whiteside, of Waverly, and his children, Sara (Scot) Dralle, of Greene, Chris (Stacie) Whiteside, of Wells, Minn., and Jennifer Whiteside, of Greene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Violet Freerks.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley, rural Clarksville, with the Rev. Peter Wenzel officiating. Patsy has been cremated and the will greet family and friends on Thursday, June 22 from 4-7 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials may be directed to the family's discretion and online condolences for Patsy may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
