Sophie Meier Obituary
Sophie was born June 13, 2013, the daughter of Kelsey Leavens and Collin Meier, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She loved to listen to her daddy speak, and her mommy sing.
Sophie is survived by her parents, Kelsey Leavens and Collin Meier, of Shell Rock; maternal grandparents, Samantha (Scott) Rewerts, of Shell Rock, and Dan (Lindee) Leavens, of Waverly; paternal grandparents, Chad and Amy Meier, of Shell Rock; maternal great-grandparents, Ted and Peggy Weaver, and Alan Leavens; paternal great-grandparents, Charles and Leann Meier, Jim and Patti Olmstead, and Mary Endelman; and six great-great grandparents. Sophie is also survived by maternal uncles, Andrew Leavens and Noah Happel; paternal Uncle Levi Meier; and paternal Aunt Josie Meier. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother Cecilia Leavens.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Church, in Shell Rock, with Pastor Kim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, in Shell Rock. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is assisting the family.
