MARY BALL Obituary
MARY ELIZABETH
BALL (BERGER)
4/29/1979 - 9/8/2025
Mary Elizabeth Ball, 46, of San Antonio, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born April 29, 1979, in Bryan, Texas, Elizabeth lived a life marked by grace, determination, faith, and extraordinary love for those around her. She grew up in Waxahachie, TX where she attended Waxahachie High School. She was apart of numerous organizations and played Tennis for the high school before graduating in 1997. She then went on to achieve her BA in Interior Design from the University of North Texas.
Elizabeth was known for her genuine, selfless, and caring spirit. She had an innate gift for putting others first, always thoughtful and gracious, yet bold and confident in who she was. Her creativity, laughter, and dependability endeared her to family, friends, and neighbors alike. Whether through her warm smile, her heartfelt listening, or the perfectly thoughtful gift she always seemed to find, Elizabeth left people feeling valued and seen. She was always laughing with you, never at you.
A dreamer at heart, Elizabeth pursued her calling as an interior designer with fearless vision. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from the University of North Texas, she worked in Dallas for a decade before boldly founding her own firm, Elizabeth B Interiors, in San Antonio. Through her talent and hard work, she helped countless clients and families create spaces filled with beauty, joy, and comfort. She was a proud member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and was deeply respected by her colleagues and clients alike.
Her faith was central to her life. Elizabeth made her profession of faith and was baptized at age 12 at First Baptist Church Waxahachie, where she participated in numerous mission trips as a youth and young adult. In San Antonio, she and her family are active members of First Baptist Church, where her faith in Christ and reliance on God shone brightly through every season of her life.
Elizabeth's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and adored wife to her husband of 12 years, Kevin Michael Ball, and a deeply patient, loving, and proud mother to their daughter, Nellie Grace Ball. She cherished her role as daughter and sibling as much as wife and mother. Her family came second only to God.
Beyond her career and family, Elizabeth gave generously of her time and gifts to her community. She volunteered with Common Ground Ministries, Daily Bread in Boerne, the Threads organization for underprivileged children, and the Lavaca Neighborhood Association. Earlier in her career, she contributed her design expertise to charitable projects such as playhouse builds in Dallas with Frost Interiors. Her giving nature left an indelible mark on those she served.
She loved the outdoors especially the mountains, national and state parksand found joy in travel, museums, and nature. She also loved flipping through design magazines, finding inspiration everywhere. Known for her occasional confident misuse of words, Elizabeth could always bring humor into any situation, and her lighthearted quirks endeared her to those around her.
Elizabeth instilled lasting lessons in those who knew her: to rely fully on God, to persevere through trials, and to fight fervently for what you love. These values remain her lasting legacy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Ball of San Antonio; their daughter, Nellie Grace Ball; her parents, Gillett and Christie Berger of Waxahachie; her sister, Meredith Gonzalez and family of Waxahachie; and her brother, Ben Berger of Dallas.
Elizabeth's family would like to express their gratitude to her oncologist, Dr. Luis Rodriguez and staff, Dr. Maged Mina, and the dedicated nurses, technicians, and chaplain Lemelle Taylor of the 5th floor oncology unit at North Central Baptist Hospital for their compassionate care.
Visitation was held Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave., San Antonio, TX 78212.
A Celebration of Life Service took place Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of San Antonio, 515 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78215.
Elizabeth lived fully, loved deeply, and served faithfully. Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to First Baptist Church of San Antonio or a faith based organization in honor of her name
