Coach Fugitt and Mrs Fugitt were my Brother and my Godparents. I did not find this out until about 15 years ago when Coach told me. Mrs. Fugitt and Coach were there @ every Christmas and birthday. Coach taught me how to throw a Football, helped me w/ my shooting in Basketball, my drives in Golf, but most importantly, my confidence and self control. Coach would tell you the good and the bad, the good when you had earned it, the bad when you needed to know. Besides my family and my Wife, Coach told some of the most stark and revealing truths about me and situations w/ which I dealt. I had planned on calling him the Friday, Saturday and Sunday prior to his passing, but became distracted w/ events that are meaningless when compared w/ one last chance to speak w/ Coach. Because of my inaction, I carry extra sadness, coupled w/ deep regret. I loved and still love Mrs. Fugitt and Coach Fugitt, they will always be what they were to me, a 2nd set of parents who were always there f/ me and Matt. W/ Coach´s passing, I am reminded of the blessed life that God and my Savior, Jesus Christ, have given me and all the wondrous gifts such as knowing and being cared for/ by Mrs. Fugitt and Coach, people who made life the best it could be. I miss and love you both, I look forward to seeing you again through the promise of Eternal Life given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. Rest in Peace, Coach Charles Fugitt, congratulations on a race well run, a life well lived.
