Carole Barrows Obituary

Carole Dianne Aliffi Barrows, 79, died Sunday, January 21, 2024 surrounded by her husband and daughter. Born in Savannah GA, she was the daughter of Charles Joseph and Laurie Annie Waters Aliffi. She married James Russell Barrows on August 26, 1967 in Charlotte N.C. Carole graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in Savannah and worked as a dental assistant, bookkeeper and eventually retired in 2003 from her administrative assistant position in the Electronic Media Department at UNI. She was an avid Panther fan, attended all home games, could be heard throughout the dome chearing them on and held season tickets up until her time of death. She received Honorary status from Phi Tau Omega, a philanthropic sorority where she partipated in many charitable activities, but made life long friends. She was also very active in her church, South Waterloo, and found it an honor to be a participant in decorating for many functions, events and sanctuary displays. She is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Antonio and David Aliffi. Carole is survived by her husband, one daughter Jayme (Barrows) Nelson, son-in-law Anthony Nelson and three grandchildren, Aubry Christina of Chicago, Kayla Elise and Anthony Charles II of Sycamore, IL. The family is asking that all memorial donations be directed on her behalf to South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, or Cedar Valley Hospice.
