Clifford Donald Sund

CEDAR FALLS - Clifford Donald Sund, 91, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Deery Suites at Western Home Communities. He was born May 2, 1933, in New Rockford, North Dakota, son of Edward and Petra (Spangberg) Sund. Cliff served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War then earned his B.S. in Engineering from the North Dakota State University School of Agriculture in Fargo. Cliff married Karen Oestreich on June 11, 1961, in Lytton, Iowa. He worked for John Deere for 40 years before retiring in 2000.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew E. Sund (1/4/1973); 3 sisters; and 4 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karen; children: David (Penny) Sund of Cedar Falls and Diane (Mark) Sullivan of Ely; and 6 grandchildren: Joshua (Sierra Brooke) Sund, Jacob Sund, Jessica Sund, Caitlin (Tyler) Arnburg, Hailey (Dirk Clark) Sullivan and Grant Sullivan.
Cliff's Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in the Larsen Chapel at Nazareth Lutheran Church (Entrance 7 off University Avenue) with Visitation the evening prior from 5-7:00 pm at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lutheran Emanuel Cemetery of Coon Valley Township, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Karen, I am so saddened to read of Cliff's passing. I remember so many fond happy members of the Iowa Club in Gulf Shores! You and Cliff always had wonderful welcoming smiles!!! GOD BLESS
