Craig L. Yocom, 85, of La Porte City, died of natural causes on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his home.

He was born April 28, 1940, in Waterloo, the son of Howard and Mildred (Krueger) Yocom. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961.

Craig married Sharon Stitt in 1962; they later divorced. He then married Julie Meyerhoff on Oct. 6, 2012, in La Porte City.

He retired after many years at Sieben Electric, Titus Manufacturing, and Stetson Building Products. He enjoyed woodworking and working on small engines.

Craig is survived by his wife, Julie Yocom of La Porte City; two daughters, Lizz (Doug) Reuter of Hudson, and Chereen (Robbie) Rhoades of Vorhies; five step-children, Nicole (Geoff Miller) Shaffer of Jesup, Jesica (Byran) Boyce of Oregon, Robert (Keely) Meyerhoff-Schoof of Hazelton, Douglas (Tonya) Meyerhoff of Washington, PA, and Andria Walker of Waterloo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlene (David) Tammel of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Craig Reuter; and three sisters, Ramona Shoemaker, Roberta Flemming, and Vicki Aten.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the La Porte City American Legion USS San Diego Post #207, 302 Cedar St., La Porte City where military rites will be conducted by the Legion Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to the family.
