Derek M. Eagles of Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 3, 2025, at his home.
Derek was the second of three sons born to Malcolm and Doris Eagles on April 6, 1949, in New Brunswick, Canada. Derek graduated from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was hired by Deere & Company who he worked for until his retirement.
Derek married Pamela Rosemeyer in Dubuque, Iowa, on July 9, 1976. They had three children, Nathan, Alicia, and Matthew Eagles; and three grandchildren, Liam, Greta, and Evangeline Eagles.
Derek most enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working outside on his acreage, camping, rock climbing, traveling, sailing, and woodworking. He was resourceful and creative and he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls on Friday, May 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls on Saturday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation an hour prior, followed by a lunch and burial at Fairview Cemetery.
