Glenda Rae Greenwood Bean

1943 - 2023

Glenda Rae Bean (born Greenwood), 80, of Bondurant, Iowa, passed away on November 15, 2023 after a long illness. Glenda was born in Rockford, IL, and was the daughter of Glenn and Ruby Greenwood. She attended Cedar Falls High School, graduating with the class of 1961.

Glenda had a fulfilling career, dedicating 26 years of her life to John Deere Waterloo Works. She was known for her hard work and dedication to her profession.

Outside of work, Glenda had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She had a passion for crafts, embroidery, and genealogy. But what truly brought her happiness was spending time with her two beloved dogs, Willow and Tilly.

Glenda will be remembered as a kind, caring, and loving individual. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Glenda is survived by her children: Lori (David) Koch of Cedar Rapids, IA, Doug (Julia) Bean of Scotch Grove, IA, Brenda Gosden (Jess Thorison) of Manitowoc, WI, and Kristi Bean of Bondurant, IA. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Randall of San Diego, CA, her sister Sandy Greenwood Braun of Green Bay, WI, her brother Randy (Rhonda) Greenwood of Waterloo, IA, and her grandchildren: Samantha (Michael) Meyer of Des Moines, IA, Matthew Bean (Andrew Hoffman) of Washington DC, Dylan Laylin of Cedar Rapids, IA, Cecilia Bean of Waukon, IA, Bryanna Gosden of Council Bluffs, IA, and Brianna Meyer of Waukon, IA. And four great grandchildren.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Ruby Greenwood, her sister, Lisa Jensen and her brother-in-law Earl Randall.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 9 am to 11 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. The services will take place at The Bean Farm, located at 7731 148th Street, Scotch Grove, IA 52310.

In this time of grief, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Glenda. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
