Gregory Savor Obituary
July 28, 1956 - September 7, 2024
Gregory Dean Savor, 68, of Onalaska, Wis. passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2024.
Born in Minneapolis to Ulysses (Racky) Savor and Melaine Tollefson, he spent his childhood in Sparta with his five boisterous brothers, Timothy, Stephen, Douglas, Jonathon (Poocher), Tom, and his sister, Marteen. He met his beloved wife, Kimberly Rasmussen, in 1977, and they married in 1981. He and Kim were together for 47 years and raised four beautiful children; Alex, Justine, Alanna, and Evan, all of whom survive him. He and Kim shared a philosophy of life, love of adventure, and cherished the extraordinary life they created together. His family meant the world to him, and lately his favorite role was fun and playful "G.G." to his four sweet grandchildren, whom he spoiled to pieces.
Greg was the dedicated owner and operator of Sparta Tool & Manufacturing and also served on the board of Multistack. When he wasn't hard at work, he preferred to spend time at the lake with loved ones; boating, snowmobiling and maintaining his famous green lawn. He also had an affinity for Wisconsin sports, fast cars and fishing trips to Canada. No one loved to tease more than Greg, which is how he most often showed affection. If he ever made fun of you or gave you a nickname, rest assured he loved you. Greg's sense of humor, kindness and generosity will be missed by more than he knew.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 6th in the Cargill Room at The Waterfront Restaurant in La Crosse, from 3 to 6 p.m., with remarks and a blessing at 4 p.m.

Dear Kim, my sincerest condolences, I was so sorry to hear about Greg. I remember your wonderful visit to Ireland last year and our lovely day at Cashel.
I find some strength in William Penn's words from 1693 "But death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas; they live in one another still. For they must needs be present, that love and live in that which is omnipresent. In this divine glass, they see face to face and their converse is free, as well as pure."

So sorry to hear of the passing of Greg. I did not know him well, but knew him of the Savor family. A number of years back, I had a flat tire on my Harley, north of Holmen. Greg and Kim happened along and he was kind enough to give me a ride back to Sparta to get my truck and trailer, without any compensation expected. How many people would do something like that for someone you only faintly know? Please accept my deepest sympathies and sincere condolences during this time of sorrow. RIP Greg
