Patrick Fereday Obituary
July 20, 2025
Brother Patrick Fereday, OFM, a devoted Franciscan and humble servant of God, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born in Waterloo, Iowa, to Thomas M. and June Fereday, Patrick graduated from Columbus High School and Loras College before entering religious life through formation with Glenmary Home Missioners and the Franciscan Friars of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province.
Throughout his ministry in New Jersey, Brother Patrick served in parish outreach, retreats, youth ministry, and care for the poor.
He is survived by his Franciscan brothers; siblings Mary Ann, Michael, and Thomas; extended family; and the many friends whose lives he touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in Butler, New Jersey, on July 25, 2025, and will be live-streamed on their website at 10 AM CST/11 AM EST. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Anthony's Church.
May he rest now in the peace of Christ.
