Richard McGee Obituary
May 19, 1942 - October 10, 2025
Richard, 83, passed away peacefully at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., to Oran and Josephine McGee. He later married Cathy Brooks, and from this union had a son, Chad. Throughout his life, Rich professed in his faith towards sobriety, his love of family and friends through stories and card games, and for the great outdoors with a fishing pole in his hand.
Richard is survived by his son, Chad (Erin) McGee of Denver; three sisters, Patty Barz of Cape Coral, Fla., Connie (Steve) Sisson of Omaha, Neb., and Laurie (Jeff) Sverdahl of North Palm Beach, Fla; a brother, Dan (Carmen) Riley of Waterloo; a sister in law, Rebecca McGee of Cape Coral, Fla; a grandson, Jack McGee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by: his father, Oran; his mother, Josephine; his step-father, Joe Riley; two brothers, Mike McGee and John Riley; and a son, Mark.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 8th, at the Waterloo Elks Club at 407 East Park Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa from 1 to 4 p.m.

Remember him as Richie McGee,when he lived on Vaughn St. He hung out with cousins John and Walt Carr. I remember being 8 and thinking what a cool group of guys
